B Tech Study Abroad Programme

The 4-Year B. Tech. Student Study Abroad programme in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering at OP Jindal University offers the opportunity to the students for International exposure of the best practices of the leading manufacturers of the world. The program is jointly initiated by the pioneers in the Steel Industries, Jindal Steel and Power Limited, INDIA and Sinosteel, CHINA. During this programme the students will learn the concepts and develop skills related to Metallurgical Engineering and have a broad based fundamental knowledge of both science and engineering with analytical and innovative skills. The programme will also help the students to develop motivation for study, knowledge, skills development, inculcate stream based research in the area of Process Metallurgy and Physical Metallurgy, innovation aptitude, and enhancing creativity with sensitivity towards nature and society. The students can grab the golden opportunity of the Assured Internships and Placements offered by both the Industry Partners.

1st Year : OP Jindal University, Raigarh

2nd Year : Anhui University of Technology, China

3rd Year : Anhui University of Technology, China

4th Year : OP Jindal University, Raigarh

Field of Scopes:

From the research direction and the technical nature, the scopes can be sub-divided into:

  • Manufacturing technology of pure steel.

  • The analysis and synthesis of the steel manufacturing process.

  • The principle, technology, application of technology, solid state ion theory and its application in metallurgy and materials.

  • The design and construction of steel smelting technology, technology, equipment and production system.

  • Simulation of metallurgical process.

  • The theory and application of physical chemistry in metallurgical process and material synthesis.

  • The comprehensive utilization of mineral resources and the environmental protection during the smelting process.

Study and Training Objectives:

  • To study the basic theory and basic knowledge of ferrous and non-ferrous metals (including heavy, light, rare and precious metals) metallurgy.

  • To study the production technology and equipment, experimental research, design method, environmental protection and comprehensive utilization of resources.

  • To receive basic training in smelting technological development, engineering design, testing skills and scientific research, with the ability to develop new technologies.

  • To learn the new processes and new materials, and industrial design and production organization and management.

  • To train students with solid basic theory and professional knowledge of metallurgical engineering, able to engage in iron and steel metallurgy and non-ferrous metallurgy field for product development and process design, production organization and management, technology development, scientific research and other aspect work.
