Department of Physics

The Department of Physics came into existence in the year 2018. Since its commencement, the Department has been imparting quality education at UG and PG levels and conducting advanced research in front line areas of physics with a major focus on Solid State/Condensed Matter Physics/Materials Science so that the students of this region get academically benefited on par with any leading national or international institutions. In spite of several financial constraints, basic infrastructural facilities for advanced level research in the abovementioned frontline areas have been created. That helps the students in this department to get extensive exposure to research activities on par with those at the national or international level. The sincere and dedicated efforts of the faculty members over the years played a key role in creating a conducive atmosphere for quality education and research in physics. The students who passed out from this department made their identities known by obtaining distinctive positions in national as well as international arenas. This has subsequently earned a high academic reputation worldwide.
