Department of Chemistry

The Department of Chemistry has started its functioning in the year 2018 as a part of School of Science to provide quality education in the conventional areas of Science and grow into a Centre for teaching and research to acquire a top position in the academic map of Indian arenas. The department focuses on the application based hands-on curriculum with the emphasis to make students industry ready to be absorbed in various organizations. The Department offers courses both at undergraduate and postgraduate level as well as offers doctorate programme. The students are monitored and evaluated by regular assessments, seminars, assignments, projects, mid and end-semester examinations. The students are exposed to various basic to advanced laboratory facilities which bring out their intellectual skills in conceptualise and analyse scientific problems. The faculty members are actively involved in research with the major focus on Supramolecular Chemistry, synthesis and characterization of Materials, Asymmetric Catalysis, Medicinal Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, etc.

The Department has two laboratories possessing necessary chemicals, reagents, glassware, lab wares and basic instruments for performing experiments in physical, inorganic, organic and analytical chemistry in general, and synthesis, analysis (qualitative and quantitative) and characterization of different inorganic and organic compounds in more particulars.
