The Department of Humanities firmly believes in developing interpersonal communication Skills of the students as well as creating an environment that will synergistically link scientific developments and thoughts to enhance the socio-economic, linguistic, managerial and humanistic development of the country. It aims at the betterment of the Professional Communication Skills of the students to develop not just top quality professionals but also well developed persons. The Department takes well care of all the possible problems initially faced by the new learners and eventually makes those learners effective in Communication Skills. To make the process of learning Communication in English more effective and authentic, the department conducts Lab Sessions, Group Discussions, Seminars, Conferences and Guest Lectures from experts apart from regular classes. It is building the Interpersonal Skills, Soft Skills of the students who are from different social and cultural backgrounds and moulding them into Professionals in presenting themselves in the highly professionalized era.
To increase the student’s ability to improve and utilize the skills necessary to be a competent Interpersonal communicator.

PO1: In-depth Knowledge:Acquire basic in-depth and comprehensive knowledge of literature from a wide variety of genres, historical periods, geographical areas, diverse cultures, and genders, and attain specialization in a particular domain.
PO2: Research and Scientific Reasoning:Apply theories, methodologies, knowledge, critical thinking, and inductive and deductive reasoning to design and Research, interpret, and critique traditional and non-traditional literary texts in relation to historical and theoretical frameworks.
PO3: Communication and Digital Skills:Acquire proficiency in oral and written communication skills to comprehend and write effective reports, design documents, make effective presentation, and give and receive clear instructions,
PO4: Professional Ethics: Acquire the knowledge of ethics and values to inculcate fair practices throughout their professional life.
PO5: Project Management:Develop and apply knowledge of literature and literary theories and Produce scholarly and professional documents that evidence strong argument, mastery of critical voice, and a command of discourse and audience.
PO6: Leadership Readiness: Interact with people from diverse backgrounds as both leaders/mentors and team members with integrity and professionalism.
PSO-1:To apply the fundamental knowledge of English Literature and Literary Theories and inculcate diverse modes of discourse analysis for textual interpretations.
PSO-2:To formulate questions that are both rigorous and adventurous and design and conduct sustained, sophisticated, independent research to make a critical contribution to subfields within English studies by engaging in analytical thinking and investigating within and beyond the field(s).
PSO-3:To engage in methodological reflections on the nature of archives and to suggest the possibilities for English studies of the use of oral history as a means of understanding literary and cultural phenomena.
