Cine Club (Ninad), OP Jindal University organized an exciting competition titled “Reel Tales” with the theme Navaratri on September 26, 2024. This event aimed to celebrate the vibrant festival of Navaratri through the creative medium of short films and reels. Students from various departments showcased their storytelling and filmmaking talents, presenting unique interpretations cultural and spiritual significance of Navaratri. The competition provided a platform for students to express their creativity, enhance their communication skills, and build self-confidence.
The first-year B.Sc. (H) students specializing in Biotechnology were afforded the opportunity to gain practical insights into the field of Biotechnology within the Food Industry, specifically at JSP’s Rabo Dairy Processing and Horticulture Department on the 24th of September, 2024. This recent excursion endowed the students with critical practical experience pertaining to significant biotechnological applications in the food sector, with a pronounced emphasis on dairy processing and horticultural practices. Throughout the course of the visit, the students meticulously observed various phases of milk processing, encompassing the processes of milk collection, storage, and packaging.

The B.Sc.(H) Biotechnology 3rd semester students recently visited Shivangi Pariyojna JSP, an organization specializing in the production of sanitary napkins. During their visit, the students were introduced to the manufacturing process. They also observed the different stages of production, including cutting, layering, and packaging. This hands-on experience provided them with a comprehensive understanding of the sanitary napkin production process.

The resource person of the session was Dr. Sanjeev Anand Sahu, Associate Professor, Department of Mathematics and Computing, IIT(ISM), Dhanbad. Around a hundred participants were highly enriched with the session which was focused on the application of various modeling techniques to understand and simulate complex processes within the Earth's system.

Dept. of Biotechnology, SoS, OPJU organized a visit to Jindal Power Horticulture and Dairy Department, Rabo Dam for the students of B.Sc. (H) Biotechnology I Sem. In the Horticulture Department, students explored the variety of plants and their medicinal importance. Whereas in Dairy, students learnt about the breeding, feeding, and treatment methods of dairy animals. They also came across the collection, packaging, and distribution of milk from the dairy Farm.

Dept. of Biotechnology, SoS, OPJU organized an Industrial Visit for the students of B.Sc. (H) Biotechnology to OP Jindal Fortis Hospital, Tamnar. Students came to know about the advanced techniques of the Biochemistry Laboratory and visited the emergency ward and O.T. They learned about the process of waste management in the hospital.

(Hons) Biotechnology on 16th June 2023. The Resource Person for the session was Dr. Sushma Patel, Assistant Professor, Dept. of Botany, Kirodimal Government Arts & Science College, Raigarh. She explained about 35 different leafy vegetables available in Chhattisgarh with their medicinal importance in her lecture.

OP Jindal University organized Parents Summit-2023 on April 27 & 28, 2023. As a part of this event, the School of Science conducted it for the parents of the students of SoS on April 27, 2023. The Parents' meet was full of hue and grandeur. There was a departmental presentation and discussion followed by a central event in which Hon'ble Vice Chancellor, Dr R.D. Patidar addressed the parents and the students. A few parents shared their feedback on the event and their experience with the teaching-learning and extra-curricular activities undergone by their wards in OPJU. The Parents Summit 23K was overall a huge success with the contribution of the faculty and staff members, students, and all its stakeholders.

Five-Day Online Faculty Development Programme on “Environment Management & Future Pathways” was organized by School of Science, O P Jindal University Raigarh in association with Academic Staff College (ASC) OPJU Raigarh from March 27th to 31st 2023. The objective of the FDP is to equip faculty, young researchers and scholars with the right understanding of pro-environmental behaviour for Green Technology & Sustainability, environmental policies & regulations, Disaster & Waste management, resource conservation & Engineering, etc. Prof. Dr. Anil K. To impart awareness about the subject among the students, Department of Biotechnology, School of Science OPJU has organized a guest lecture entitled “Future Prospects of Biotechnology” for B.Sc. (H) Biotechnology students on 13th January 2023. Dr. Sushma Patel, Assistant Professor, Dept. of Botany, PG Govt. College Raigarh was the resource person. She explained the career and future aspects of Biotechnology and discussed about their doubts.26 students participated in the event. Dr. Analkant Jha & Dr. Taniya Sengupta Rathore coordinated the programme.
Department of Bio-technology, SoS organised a lecture entitled “Promise and Peril of Stem Cell Technology for the students of B.Sc.(H) Biotechnology on 16th December 2022. The key speaker for the session was Dr. Sanjeev Gautam, Associate Professor, Kurukshetra (Haryana). He discussed about importance of Bio-technology and its application for mankind practice. It was an interactive session . The programme was Co-ordinated by Dr. Taniya Sengupta Rathore, Associate Professor, Dept. of Bio-technology.

On 22nd December, the birth anniversary of Srinivasa Ramanujan which is celebrated as 'National Mathematics Day' was celebrated with enthusiasm by the School of Science of the University by organizing various programmes like 'Power Point Presentation' and Maths Quiz competitions were organized and the students of the school participated enthusiastically.
