It is generally being discussed at all the forums that the students passing from Higher Educational Institutions are not ready for the Industry and there is gap between what is needed in the real world and what is being done in the academic institutions. However, there is no clear understanding about this gap so that remedial action may be instituted. This needs constant dialogue between Industry and Academia to understand problem completely by various stake holders.
The conclave is being organised in association with Jindal Steel & Power Limited (JSPL). Government officials and prominent industries along with other stake holders are being invited to discuss this burning issue for addressing the problem holistically.
Following events are scheduled in the IAC on both days.
The Tech-Labs will highlight the best fruits of the scholarship, research, and creative activity of students from disciplines across the OPJU. The event franchise is to motivate discussions related to novel researches and ideas. The session: "Tech-Labs" during IAC 2018 aims to bring all industry, academic experts together to discuss, learn, and share their complementary expertise and experience in a way to harness a mutually beneficial scenario. From this session we expect to forge many research and academic collaborations, such as joint research projects, business models, poster presentations, start-ups demonstration etc.
Further, the session would also be an appropriate forum to showcase the expertise available with the institute towards development of workable solutions for specific industry problems all of which is expected to culminate in research and academic collaboration including, but not limited to, joint research projects, establishment of centers of excellence, industry oriented short term courses/programs.
Students of OPJU and from other universities/institutes are invited to register themselves to showcase their expertise in various forms mentioned above though “Tech-Labs” and may send their entries to saket.jeswani@opju.ac.in.
With fast and rapid technology advancement there is a growing realization that sharing of complementary expertise and experience is the way forward to harness a mutually beneficial scenario for academia and industry. The session: "Bridging the Gap" during IAC 2017 aims to bring all stake holders together to discuss, learn, and share their respective expertise and experience. The session would be geared towards discussions on the specific points that facilitate the issues that impede development efforts and implementation of new technology.
Interested industry participants are requested to submit (saket.jeswani@opju.ac.in) one page write-up of the specific issues/problems for which they would like to have an interaction with industry personnel, faculty members and students. This write-up will be circulated within the among all stakeholders for a more meaningful discussion during IAC 2018.
