O.P. Jindal University had taken several proactive initiatives in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. These initiatives aimed to safeguard the health and well-being of students, staff, and the wider community while ensuring continuity in education and research. Some special measures implemented include the following:
Transition to Online Learning: The university likely transitioned to online classes, ensuring that students could continue their education remotely. The university became first in the state of Chhattisgarh and major part of central India to implement the online assessment system during the pandemic period.
Safety Measures: Implementation of strict health and safety protocols on campus, such as mandatory mask-wearing, social distancing, and sanitization. Regular safety protocols were followed and many awareness sessions were organized to make all members safe and healthy. WFH options were provided to the faculty and staff to be safer during the peak period of the pandemic.
COVID Testing and Contact Tracing: Providing COVID-19 testing facilities and contact tracing to monitor and manage the spread of the virus among the university community.
Mental Health Support: Offering mental health services and resources to help students and staff cope with the psychological impact of the pandemic. More than 25 awareness sessions were provided to the faculty/staff, students, parents and nearby community on mental health measures during the pandemic period.
Research and Innovation: Encouraging research and innovation to develop solutions for the pandemic's challenges. More than 100 research articles and book chapters were published by the faculty members during the pandemic period. More than 50 International Conferences were attended through virtual mode.
