Green campus and setting

Built in a lush green eco friendly environment, OPJU has the best infrastructure in the state with an intellectually vibrant and stimulating environment.

Landscape

OPJU takes pride in its construction practices, ensuring compliance with the approved building plan by the Department of Town and Country Planning. We've embraced sustainable methods, such as reusing excavated soil for backfilling and landscaping and utilizing treated water during the construction phase.

Moreover, our commitment to sustainability extends to the construction of our buildings. We've followed the Indian Green Building Council norms, which set forth stringent requirements for constructing both air-conditioned and non-air-conditioned spaces. This involves the use of appropriate thermal insulation materials to meet these standards.

In our campus construction, we prioritize eco-friendly practices, utilizing precast RCC, Fly Ash Bricks, and structural steel. Precast buildings offer numerous advantages, including lower pollution, minimal water usage compared to conventional construction, and a reduced environmental footprint. These practices reflect our dedication to both environmental responsibility and sustainable development.

Lighting System

The university's lighting system adheres to the 2007 Energy Conservation Building Code (ECBC) norms. Notably, our campus is illuminated by an energy-efficient LED lighting system in 90% of common areas, exemplifying our commitment to conserving energy. Furthermore, external street and garden lights are equipped with astronomical timers, ensuring precise on/off switching in accordance with sunset and sunrise timings. This approach not only enhances energy efficiency but also contributes to a more sustainable and eco-friendly campus environment.
