MAJOR SOCIAL ACTIVITIES (APRIL-JUNE 2022)


Social Empowerment is the most important requirement for the upliftment and progress of our nation. The Centre for Social Empowerment works with an aim to empower rural and needy communities within campus as well as in the society. It has been organizing varied academic and social activities for the upliftment of society. Some major activities are listed below-


EVENTS & ACTIVITIES CONDUCTED CSE-OPJU:

1. Celebration of National Technological day         Date: May 12, 2022

NSS & Centre for Social Empowerment, OPJU organised an Online Quiz on National Technological Day. The theme of the Quiz was technological development in India. Total 26 students from various institutions of Chhattisgarh participated in the Quiz. Prizes were distributed to the winners.


2. Workshop on Women’s Health and Hygiene for Women of Tumidih (Adopted Village)         Date: May 19, 2022

NSS & CSE, OPJU organised a Workshop on ‘Health and Hygiene for Women’ at Panchayat Office, Tumidih for women of the village. Total 23 women of adopted village attended the programme. Dr Saumya Singh, Associate Professor, Dept. of Mathematics, OPJU guided the participants on health and hygiene. Sanitary pads and the biscuit packets were given away to all the participants.


3. VAKTAVYA: SPEECH COMPETITION ON ‘ANCIENT INDIAN KNOWLEDGE AND ITS RELEVANCE IN MODERN INDIA’,         Date: June 2, 2022

To create awareness about Ancient Indian Knowledge, NSS and Literary Club OPJU organised Vaktavya: Speech Competition on ‘Ancient Indian Knowledge and Its relevance in Modern India’. Total 28 students participated in the competition. The prizes (First- Rs 500/-, Second- Rs 300/- and Third- Rs-200/- in Cash) were given away to the winners. Dr Ashish Sharma, Associate Professor, Dept. of Humanities and Prof. Jitesh Singh were the guests as Jury Members.


4. 4. Workshop on ‘Women’s Health and Hygiene’ for the Women of Tumidih (Adopted Village)        Date: June 09, 2022

NSS & CSE, OPJU organised a Workshop on ‘Health and Hygiene for Women’ at Panchayat Office, Tumidih for women of the village. Total 23 women of adopted village attended the programme. Dr Saumya Singh, Associate Professor, Dept. of Mathematics, OPJU guided the participants on health and hygiene. Sanitary pads and the biscuit packets were given away to all the participants.


5. Ceiling Fans donation to Govt. Pre-Middle School, Tumidih (Adopted Village).        Date: June 17, 2022

The Centre for Social Empowerment and NSS, OPJU donated three Ceiling fans to Govt. Pre-middle School, Tumidih. One ceiling fan was sponsored by Mr Pawan Gupta, MBA-II Sem.


6. Celebration of International Yoga Day at OPJU         Date: June 21, 2022

NSS and Department of Sports, OPJU organised a programme on International Yoga Day (June 21, 2022). Mr Sambit Sahu, faculty, OPJCC conducted the Yoga Session and 28 persons participated in the session. The Session was co-ordinated by Dr Amit Paras, Dy. Director- Sports, OPJU.


7. Blood Donation Drive at OPJU         Date: June 21, 2022

OPJU organised a Blood Donation Drive at its Health Centre in association with Fortis OP Jindal Hospital and Research Centre, Raigarh. 58 Units blood donated by Students, faculty and staff members.


8. KYC: QUIZ COMPETITION ON INDIAN CONSTITUTOION, Venue- F-09, OPJU        Date: June 23, 2022

To create awareness about Indian Constitution, NSS and Literary Club OPJU organised KYC: Know Your Constitution Quiz at OPJU. Total 36 students participated in the competition. The prizes (First- Rs 500/-, Second- Rs 300/- and Third- Rs-200/- in Cash) were given away to the winners. Dr Ashish Sharma, Associate Professor, Dept. of Humanities, Prof. Manas Ranjan Mishra, Dept. of Mathematics were the guests as Jury Members.


9. Workshop on Women’s Health and Hygiene for the Girls of Govt. Hr. Secondary School, Chharratangar (Adopted Village),         Date: June 24, 2022

NSS & CSE, OPJU organised a Workshop on ‘Health and Hygiene for Women’ at Panchayat Office, Tumidih for the women of the village. Total 41 Girls of 11th and 12th class attended the programme. Ms Komal Sharma, Sports Officer and Ms Shraddha, Health Assistant, OPJU guided the participants on health and hygiene. Sanitary pads and the biscuit packets were given away to all the participants.
