O. P. Jindal University offers a 3-year B.Tech program in Mining Engineering (Lateral Entry) for Working Professionals with flexible learning schedules. Eligible candidates are admitted directly into the second year of the B.Tech program, which spans 6 semesters. The curriculum is industry-oriented, future-focused, and continuously updated to meet the evolving demands of the metallurgical and materials engineering sectors.
To strengthen industry-academia collaboration, OPJU organizes expert lectures, technical talks, and interactive sessions by professionals from steel, mining, and manufacturing industries. The Department is equipped with advanced laboratories and testing facilities to support hands-on learning in areas such as process metallurgy, physical metallurgy, mechanical testing, and materials characterization.
Learners benefit from industry visits, internships (10–12 weeks), industrial training (4 weeks), and capstone projects, enabling them to work on real industrial challenges.
