East Zone Inter University Badminton Championship (W) for the year 2022-23 was hosted by O P Jindal University, Raigarh (Chhattisgarh) from 27th -30th December, 2022 and the venue was OPJU Badminton Court. The Tournament was Inaugurated by Shri Koshal Sharma, Unit Head, Steel Structure Division, Punjipathra Raigarh (Jindal Steel & Power) on 27th December, 2022 at play field of O P Jindal University, Raigarh.
Special invitees were Dr Vishal O Banne, Observer, AIU, Dr R D Patidar Hon’ble Vice Chancellor O P Jindal University, Mr.Anurag Vijaywargiya, Registrar, O P Jindal University and Dr.S. Das, Head Department of Metallurgy. In this Championship 41 Universities of Total 170 players and 65 coaches and managers were participated in the inauguration Ceremony. Participants, students Sports Committee members and Jindal Security Guards were participated in the colorful march past in the inaugural ceremony and after the march past the plague is given by the President of Students Sports Committee of OPJU master Sachin Bharti to all the participants for active and healthy participation in the Championship and followed by cultural program (Ganesh Vandana & Karma Dance, folk dance of Chhattisgarh) were organized on opening ceremony on 27th December, 2022 at 2:00 PM.
For smooth conduction of championship, Two Chief Referee and six umpire were invited from the Chhattisgarh Badminton Association, Raipur, Chhattisgarh. Different committee have been constituted for proper organizing of championship. Reception, verification, Account, Accommodation and help desk counter were arranged at OPJU campus for the guidance and proper information about the Championship. Transportation facilities for too and fro for all participants, Coaches, Managers, Officials and AIU observer were provided from Raigarh Railway station to the OPJU Campus and we have also arranged the buses and Scorpio for the visit of Jindal plant and Jindal Dam for observer, coaches and managers during the Championship. Separate accommodation for female players, coaches and managers were given in the girl’s hostel. Accommodation for Chief referee, umpire and AIU observer were provided at the OPJU Guest House. Fooding facilities for all the players, coaches and managers were arranged in hostel itself and for officials and AIU observer in OPJU Guest house.

Department of Civil Engineering in association with OPJU IC-ACI Students chapter and IC-ACI organize an online 3 Days online Faculty Devlopment Program (FDP) from 6th April 2022 to 8th April 2022, on the topic “Advanced Technologies in Concrete and Precast Concrete”. The speakers are from the various institute and industry. There are three different topics in concrete. This program was hosted and moderated by Mrs. Tulika Gupta, Facuty advisor IC-ACI, OPJU students chaper and Sr. Assistant Professor Civil Department.
Mr. Sunny Surlaker, Prsident of IC-ACI, currently works and trains in Concrete, aterproofing, Repair and Rehabilitation, Public Relations, Marketing Strategies, Technical Selling and is accomplished in Laboratory Setups, Raw Material Sourcing and Development of Construction Chemicals. He developed many innovative materials and non-destructive test methods for project applications. He delivered the lecure on “Selection Of Repair System For Concrete”. In this parcipants learn the recent practices for repairing the concrete. Along with the replacement of the older and bonding between older and newer concrete. Participants learn surface protection system are used to improve the durability and resistance of concrete structures against a variety of external impacts and loads. They are part of repair measures.

A three-days International Conference on "Emerging Trends in Industry 4.0 (ETI 4.0)" was organized by OP Jindal University, Raigarh during May 19-21, 2021.The conference was sponsored by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). The objective of this International Conference was to discuss all aspects of Industry 4.0, to provide a common platform to academicians, government representatives, researchers from industries and corporate stakeholders, policy makers and all stakeholders to share and promote up-to-date information. Dr.R.D Patidar (Vice-Chancellor,OP Jindal University) was the chairman and Dr. Ashok Bansali(Head, Depart of Computer Science) was the convener of the conference. The three-day conference had keynotes, panel discussion sessions and technical sessions in addition to the inaugural and closing sessions. The inaugural session of the Conference was graced by Shri Anil D. On occasion Dr. Patidar(Vice-Chancellor) said that the society would facilitate students to grow their skills and innovative thinking. The Department of Mechanical Engineering has established a collegiate club of SAE (Society for Automotive Engineers) with an objective of benefiting the students in aligns with SAEINDIA in the field of the mobility industry. Centre for Corporate Education and Training (CCET), OPJU successfully completed a one-day corporate training on “Communication Skills” for the employees of Jindal Steel & Power Limited Raigarh on March 15, 2021. Dr Sanjay Singh (Assistant Dean, Students Affairs) delivered an expert talk in this training program. He demonstrates how to boost the communication and interpersonal skills for effective workplace communication. The session was extremely informative and helps the employees to facilitate their ability to work collaboratively with others.
Centre for Corporate Education and Training (CCET), OPJU successfully completed one- day Corporate training on ‘Basics of Microsoft Excel’ for the employees of Jindal Steel & Power Limited Raigarh on March 24, 2021. Prof. Umashankar Pandey (Assistant Professor Department of Computer Science and Engineering) delivered an expert talk about how to create and use basic spreadsheets. The employees have received an overview of the interface and learn the various methods for entering and editing data. Additionally, participants also learn the various ways to write simple formulas. At the end of the course, employees will able to design, manage spreadsheets and apply best practices in their working place.

Centre for Corporate Education and Training (CCET) OP Jindal University, Raigarh successfully completed a one- day Corporate training on ‘Leadership Skill & Time Management’ for the employees of Jindal Steel & Power Limited Raigarh on January 15, 2021. The program is an insight of Effective time management leads to effective leadership. Dr. Sanjay Singh trained the JSPL managers on how to use “their” calendar system to create more value for themselves and their team in both their professional and personal lives. He emphasizes that Effective time management is crucial to accomplishing organizational tasks as well as to avoid wasting valuable organizational assets. The session was extremely informative, and the class size of 30 employees has participated in the training session and there was an excellent feedback from the employees.

Dr. Seshadev Nayak delivered an expert talk about how to Develop and Apply Positive Attitudes for Success. A positive mental attitude is based on the idea that “the future will be better than the past because we can MAKE it better”. Dr. Seshadev Nayak enlightens that the Positive mental attitude is a set of thoughts, feelings, beliefs, and actions, that cause a person to respond positively to negative situations and therefore allows them to make the best of any circumstance. He is having more than 25 years of experience in academia, industry and administration. He is the recipient of several scholarships and awards such as the MHRD Scholarship, the Gold Medal at M.E. Level, the best paper award at the IEEE conference and the best teacher award.
