OPJU is very proud of Dr. S S Chakrabarti & Dr. Satish, faculty, SOE, for successfully publishing the patent for “Efficiency improvement of the thermal power plants”. The object of proposed device is to provide a heating mode utilizing microwave along with the combination of solar energy for generation of steam for steam turbines. In the present, invention transformer passes the electric energy to the magnetron and the magnetron converts this electric energy in to the microwave radiation. These microwave radiation causes the vibration of water molecules. This dipole movement of water molecules causes intense vibration among those molecules. This intense vibration causes the generation of heat from molecular level. And this heat is to be utilized for the generation of steam for steam turbine. Also, in summer season the heat will be utilized from the solar system for the same function.
